“I have always been definitely afraid of the dentist and needed a good bit of"
I have always been definitely afraid of the dentist and needed a good bit of work done over the past several years, and always put it off because I did not like going to the dentist.
When we moved here to Houston, I came and I checked out Dr. Burch's office since I was right down the road, and from day one, everybody made me feel extremely comfortable. I have never had a doctor or a dentist that is as compassionate and caring as Dr. Burch. I mean to the point that each time I've had any kind of dental work done, he's called me the next day or later in the evening just to check in, make sure there's no problems. The first time that I had any major work done, we tried the oral sedation, which I'd had bad luck with in the past, and everything was smooth sailing, and so that kind of sealed the deal for me.
I have had some genetic issues with gum disease and other problems that have required a good bit of work, most of which probably could have been avoided if I had gone in a little sooner. However, between setting up plans that worked financially, scheduling times that worked with our schedules, I have been able, in just a handful of appointments, to get majority of the stuff done that I needed to, making me a whole lot more confident with not only the appearance of my smile but knowing that the teeth that I have are going to last a whole lot longer than if I had not had the work done. At 35, I don't really have any interest in moving into a full set of dentures. Knowing that I was able to get the work done here and get it done at my pace has made me a whole lot more confident about the longevity of my oral health in general.
“Dr. Burch is very professional, and his crew. You know, everybody that works here, they're"
Dr. Burch is very professional, and his crew. You know, everybody that works here, they're very friendly. They make you feel, you know, like they really care about you.3
I've had cleanings here, I've had fillings here. Then they introduced, you know, the Invisalign. He suggested that I do the Invisalign because my back teeth were hitting the top of my front teeth, and it was wearing down. That's why whenever he mentioned the Invisalign and that that would help that, then I thought, well, that would be a great idea. I'd like to keep my teeth as long as I can.
It's been going great. I mean, I can feel a little pressure when I first, but it's nothing unbearable at all. When you first put new ones in, the new trays, they're very comfortable to wear. I feel like they're doing something, you know. I'm very comfortable with them. I've had crooked teeth for a long time. When I start thinking about having straight teeth, it makes me excited because I'm like, I've never had that.
“The staff just goes out of their way, I believe, to make you feel comfortable,"
The staff just goes out of their way, I believe, to make you feel comfortable, that everyone is very friendly.
I love my hygienist. She is very sweet, and we have a good time talking every time I come in. Dr. Burch is always very professional, and I always feel very well taken care of when I'm here.
I was never really self-conscious about my smile, but some of my teeth weren't hitting correctly. And I feel like there was some damage being done that I wasn't aware of previously until Dr. Burch pointed it out to me, that it was hitting my bottom teeth in the front and filing them down sort of slowly over time. And I'm happy that this Invisalign is going to ... or not reverse those effects, but it's not going to get any worse. It wasn't a problem that I used to have, but it was something that sort of developed, and I'm happy to have it taken care of.
I'm just about two months into it, and so I have about six more months to go. Hopefully, right before Christmas I'll be all done, and I'll have a new smile just in time for Christmas.
The biggest selling point for me is always that I just come here and I feel very comfortable and very well taken care of. I feel like the staff really care about my dental health and that they really go out of their way to show it.
“Dr. Burch is very mild-mannered. He's soft-spoken. It puts you at ease. He listens to"
Dr. Burch is very mild-mannered. He's soft-spoken. It puts you at ease. He listens to your needs. I just feel comfortable with him as being my dentist. I've had several fillings done with Dr. Burch, and on the last go, we did the scans, and it showed that I needed a root canal and another crown. That kind of was interesting, because I was in a state of panic about that. It was a whole lot better than I expected. I mean, if you want to say a root canal was pleasant, I got to say it was pleasant.
It was nothing like I anticipated because he was really good about working with my anxiety, giving me time to process what they were doing, giving me time if I needed a little breather, explaining what was going on. I had a little sensitivity, but since ... you know, this is a process. Since I've had the root canal and the permanent crown put in, I've had no sensation, no sensitivity to the cold or the hot or the sweets. I recommend him to everyone. My trainer is a coward when it comes to dental work. I said, "Look no further. Dr. Burch is your guy."
“I've been a patient of Dr. Burch's for about four years, and unfortunately, I wasn't"
I've been a patient of Dr. Burch's for about four years, and unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with real healthy teeth despite following all the directions. And so I have quite a number of crowns, and I've had to do some fairly extensive dental work at the front upper teeth. And they put four crowns in, and they did a perfect match. And I've been really, really happy with the outcome.
I had fillings in those upper four teeth to begin with in the back from when I was a child, and they were just old fillings. And it was time for them to be replaced. So on Dr. Burch's recommendation, we went ahead and put crowns on them because it just made the teeth stronger and healthier.
You couldn't really tell it before because the fillings were in the back of my teeth. So cosmetically, there wasn't a huge difference. But with a crown, it's important, especially with them being in the front of the mouth, that they're able to match the color well. So they sent me to the lab that they recommend, and based on their evaluation of the current color of my remaining teeth, they were able to do it just like a perfect match. I mean, you can't even tell by looking at them that they're crowns.
Dr. Burch's bedside manner – I have never met a dentist that is more calm and reassuring, and he's able to translate that to his patients. I don't think anybody likes going to the dentist, and he just has a real good way of putting you at ease and making you feel comfortable.
Every time I come, everybody in the office is super kind. They take the time to know you and your family. So my kids ... both of my kids and myself come here, and every time I come in, they follow up on what we've been doing and where we've been going. And you just can genuinely tell that they care.
“Well, the first time I've ever met Dr. Burch, I was immediately impressed that he"
Well, the first time I've ever met Dr. Burch, I was immediately impressed that he was extremely smart, and he's young. He was on top of everything with new technology and also too, he's the most gentle dentist I've ever had. I had a lot of work done over the years, and various crowns, and then over the years as I'm getting older, the colors kind of change. My gums were starting to recede a little bit. So when I smiled, I would have odd colors plus little lines on some of my gumline.
The work that I do, I'm doing presentations quite a bit, and I do training. I'm interfacing with a lot of people, so I was getting a little self-conscious of the fact that when I did smile, you could see certain things, and the little lines kind of bothered me. I didn't want to laugh too loud because I knew you can kind of see little imperfections.
So then when I had this work done – I had 10 crowns done at one time and all on the upper part of my mouth – and it just totally changed my appearance and my smile for sure, and I've been extremely pleased with it. So I'm smiling more. I'm not afraid to smile or laugh and not have to kind of contain myself. So I'm very, very, very pleased with the look of it.
“I'm 72 years old. I've been to a lot of dentists over the years and"
I'm 72 years old. I've been to a lot of dentists over the years and came here because my teeth were really bad. They took X-rays and did all that. And then they set up different plans, we went over everything. They didn't push anything – "What do you want to do?" We chose the plan of implants on top and the denture on the bottom, and that's where we are, and I love it. These implants are amazing.
It's gone so smoothly. Everybody here is amazing. They're encouraging, Dr. Burch too. I mean, they make me feel so much at ease because this is a lot of dental work that had to be done. I actually enjoy coming here. I mean, the staff is amazing. They are so nice and just make me feel so comfortable. I actually feel better. Well, I hated to smile before, it was like that. But now, oh, I can smile, and I have compliments on it from my relatives and my kids – "Mom, you look good. You smile more."
“I love coming to Copperfield Dentistry just because every time I come here, I feel"
I love coming to Copperfield Dentistry just because every time I come here, I feel at home. There is a big family sense and a big family feeling when I come here. All the staff are very, very kind. They take care of you, they talk to you, they want to get to know you, they ask you how you're doing, they catch up with you on life. They tell you about their life. And not only that, Dr. Burch is just so comforting to listen to, and he walks you through every step.
And a cavity on the top of my tooth right here and it actually, it fell out. It wasn't a cavity that was put in, it was just like a cavity I had. And when I was brushing one day, it actually fell out. I had a big hole in my tooth on the front, top of my tooth, and I thought I looked terrible. I never wanted to smile anymore. I didn't smile for almost two years. And I came in here and they matched that perfect shade of the filling onto my tooth, and they got it on, glued down. They got it shaved, looked all nice and pretty, and now I smile everywhere, so it's pretty awesome.
I got it done, literally, probably like a month before my wedding, and it was a relief because who wants to get married and spend $3,500 on a photographer and look like this in every photo? I'm pretty sure my mother-in-law would've killed me. Coming to Copperfield Dentistry has just been a place where I've always felt at home. It's the only specialist that I have kept the same my entire life. So, I love coming to Copperfield Dentistry.
