Get More Information on Our Approach to TMJ Treatment
We have different options for helping people that have temporomandibular joint disorder or dysfunction, and that can be pain in the joints, clicking, popping, pain throughout the jaws, patients clenching and grinding their teeth. A few options – one is we can fabricate occlusal guards, which is something that they can wear at night while they’re sleeping just to help decrease the amount of pressure they’re putting on their joints, decrease the amount of wear that they have on their teeth. Another option is that if their teeth being out of position is leading to some of these issues, we can help straighten those teeth out with orthodontic treatments.
Here in our office, we use Invisalign, which is clear orthodontic aligners, so we can move the patient’s teeth to a more ideal position, and by improving the bite, a lot of times we improve the positioning of the joints, which helps relieve some of these issues as well, so, with an examination, we can look at these patients and we can determine what’s causing it, what we can do to help, and then do everything in our power to help the situation.
